About the practice
A specialist neurodevelopment and child development practice supporting children, families, education settings and professionals.
Clinical philosophy
Every child has strengths. The work is to understand how a child is developing, recognise what they do well, identify what is getting in the way of taking part in everyday life, and work collaboratively with the people around them.
Movement, play, relationships and meaningful participation are central to development. A child who is avoiding the climbing frame, finding handwriting exhausting or struggling to settle in a busy classroom is telling us something about how their body and brain are working together.
Support is shaped around the individual child — their developmental profile, their environment, their strengths and the things that matter in their daily life.
The neurodevelopmental approach
Neurodevelopment is the way the brain and body develop together over time, and how that development shows up in movement, attention, regulation, learning and relationships.
This practice looks at function rather than labels: what a child can do, what takes disproportionate effort, and what would make everyday participation more accessible. That perspective sits alongside diagnosis rather than replacing it — a child may or may not have a diagnosis, and the developmental picture matters either way.
Psychomotricity, the discipline underpinning this work, is well established in Switzerland and France and brings a particular understanding of the relationship between movement, emotion and thought.
Working with others
Families, educators and other professionals are partners in understanding a child, not audiences for a report. Where other services are involved, the aim is to add to what is already happening rather than to duplicate it.
Where a child's needs fall outside this practice's scope, that will be said clearly, with guidance on who would be better placed to help.
